50 Shades of Grey…
So, I know I said my dissertation was taking over my life…but I feel that I’m developing a new title, from being the Princess of the Pub I think I should promote myself to Queen of Procrastination! I will get my dissertation finished and today I’ve been working my brown ass off to get a substantial amount done so I can move on to my next book!
After browsing through the Metro and reading about this book…50 Shades of Grey, I felt the need to download it onto my iPhone and see what all the fuss was about! And frankly there is a lot of fuss to be made! Considering I finished it in 3 days, I have to say it was one of those books that keeps your heart pounding…but not in suspense!
It’s a very sexy book that is very explicit with extreme detail! For those who haven’t heard of it…It’s about a successful man Mr Grey and the kinky but romantic relationship he forms with a graduate! I’m not going to lie I enjoyed it and what made me even happier was finding out it was a trilogy! So I’ve downloaded 50 Shades of Darker…BUT I’ve decided that I need some self discipline in my life right now so Mr Grey and his red room of pain will have to wait! Because I have a feeling I’ll be getting an ass whopping of my mum and dad if I fail my degree! So back to dissertation writing it is!

So I have managed to do the one thing I swore not too! Neglect my blog, and I feel terrible for doing so! With university ending soon my stress levels have been crazy and it’s safe to say my mind has been a little bit pre-occupied…
On a brighter note, I finally feel that my life can begin…things are so exciting at the moment, 2012 is definitely going to be a year to remember. My nephew is due in June, I am graduating in July and I’m in the process of launching my own business!! Thinking about the future is very exciting and I can not wait to see what I will have achieved by the end of this year.
I am sitting here with the biggest grin just thinking about university coming to an end! The thought of handing in my dissertation and not looking back is making me want to just jump up and dance! Others have said to me, it scares them that their education is ending, but for me I couldn’t be happier it’s been the longest three years of my life and I’ll gladly be happy to say goodbye to it!
The thought of getting off the train, walking into my local pub and ordering a lovely large glass of wine saying to myself ‘I did it’ is keeping me going! I’m sure it will be the sweetest and most memorable glass I’ve ever had!
But until then, I will bid you farewell! And promise to be back with exciting stories to tell!
So the weekend…did not quite go to plan! I ended up staying in Loughborough longer than I intended too! BUT I have to say it was one of the best NSF’s I have ever been too! I let go of my stubborn ways and made an effort to talk and socialise! I made so many new friends and rekindled the friendships with people that I had lost!
It made me realise how important community is! I have this whole other world with people that I feel so safe with! It is almost like an escape from reality! A world that none of my friends from school or from going out clubbing know about! I used to be so anti community! I hated going to all these sport tournaments, religious events and spending time with my own, BUT I’m happy to say it’s changed! I realised that we’re all the same and although, we all live different lives, I share the same connection with all of them and they share the same back! It’s truly amazing when you think of it like that!
So to all my Ismaili brothers and sisters! LOVE YOU!
